Selections so far

I met with the concrete contractor today.  I'm sticking with the original color scheme... regular broomed finish gray concrete on the walking paths to match the patio and slab to my garage/bathroom entrance and a tan and gray marble color he is going to mix for me for around the pool and fire pit.  He did not have a sample of the color but assures me it will look great and based on the work I have seen from him, I'm sure it will.  I got to see what the imprint pattern will look like around the pool, pic is below although will be in a different color and I selected a slate pattern for the firepit, pic also below.  I've also attached some of the other choices and color selections I've made.  Meeting with the fence man tomorrow!

Appointments and bad timing

Some good news and some bad news today. Tomorrow I meet with the concrete contractor to pick out the imprint and stamp pattern that will go on the concrete. On Friday, I meet with the fence company to finalize those details and get the fence on order. The pool is scheduled to be delivered on Aug 12 at noon which is great... if I was not going to be on a family vacation in the Ozarks on the 13-18th. It's really going to bother me not being able to watch over this. My hope is I can see the crane lift the pool off the truck and put it in the yard before I have to leave. I thought about postponing the install but I'll likely be doing some more traveling for work right after I get back and don't want to delay this process. Maybe it's a good thing I won't be around and should see quite a change by the time I make it back home.  Tonight I have to work out a few remaining details with the landscaping and make some final selections. I should have a better idea for when things will start happening after tomorrow.

Here we go again....

Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything and it has been a very nice and stress-free break.  But I think it's time to shake things up a little bit and begin phase 2 of Greuel Manor.  I just gave the final approval yesterday for the backyard plans, complete with a 14' x 30' fiberglass, heated, salt-water, in-ground pool with automatic cover and a bigger patio with a gas firepit.  The pool will be gray and the concrete brown and gray slate imprinted.  The pool was ordered yesterday and I'm told that it will take 3-4 weeks to get here.  The concrete and excavation is scheduled to start around the first of August.  It should only take 2-3 weeks for installation.  I know things never go as planned so I'm trying to not get excited but I'm thinking it is possible I could be swimming by labor day... but will not yet start planning the party.  It'll be stressful and sad to see my perfect yard destroyed but I just have to remember it will look even better in the long-run.  I've attached the plans below as well as some before pics.  Here we go again....
