A lot changed today. Some gravel was put down and compacted and the dirt was removed for the lower level patio where the pool will go. They started forming the fire pit and patio area as well as the patio step. They removed some of the irrigation lines and drainage for the downspouts. Everything is still on schedule and they plan on pouring some concrete prior to the pool installation on Tuesday. I met with the landscaper today and got all of those plans finalized. The firepit is picked out and the landscaping brick and all of the plant selections have been made. Those finishing touches are scheduled for the first part of September. I also met with the guy running the gas line to the fire pit. That will be finished on Friday. They will likely continue forming through the end of the week and probably start pouring the concrete on Monday. Tuesday will be the big day. I've got the day off work and know of a few people who will be stopping by to see the show. Tuesday morning, they will dig the actual hole for the pool, remove the dirt, and spread gravel in the bottom. The pool will show up around noon and it will be lifted from the truck, down into the hole. They will immediately backfill and begin filling it with water in order to keep it in place. Hard to believe all of that will happen in a day. Can't wait to see it and hopefully stays on schedule or I will miss it since I'm leaving for vacation the following day. Tonight's task is to review the landscaping estimate and figure out how much that went up after my decisions today, because it seems things never get any cheaper after I'm allowed to make some decisions.
